Some of your primary duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate on future strategic projects with the Director of Education Outdoors.
- Management: Deliver the MLC Marshmead curriculum, ensure staff and student wellbeing, mentor Deputy Directors, oversee staff induction, and ensure student integration and reintegration with the Kew program.
- Administration: Develop and document the curriculum, manage budgets, oversee safety documentation, student reporting, staff evaluations, and provide monthly reports.
- Safety: Ensure a safe environment, comply with Child Safe Standards, and maintain best practice safety standards.
- Teaching and Student Wellbeing: Participate in teaching, oversee student wellbeing programs, and work with Mentor staff for effective delivery.
- General Duties: Engage in outdoor programs, attend community events, lead reintegration programs, support staff, lead meetings, complete core safety training, and commit to professional learning.

About You
- Leadership and management experience in education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster a positive community and manage student wellbeing.
- Experience with curriculum development and budget management.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with Child Safe Standards.
- Active participation in outdoor and physical education programs.
- Tertiary qualification in education and eligibility for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
- Familiarity with current learning and wellbeing theories, particularly for Middle School, and the ability to apply these in student wellbeing programs.
- Knowledge and interest in global environmental issues and commitment to global citizenship.
- Experience and enjoyment of outdoor activities, with a commitment to conservation and environmental sustainability principles.
- Ability to introduce change while maintaining existing programs.
- Current Working with Children Check and Police Check.
- Open to new ideas, striving for excellence, and demonstrating a high level of integrity.
