We are looking for our Director of theOffice of the Building Commissioner to play an instrumental role in providing leadership and direction to a range of executive and business support services. Your focus will be on ensuring the consistent, effective, and efficient delivery of high-quality services in alignment with the organisation's broader strategies.
About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director, Policy & Programs, this role plays a crucial part in strategically defining business strategies and organisational policies to coordinate multiple major projects and initiatives.
You will cultivate collaborative relationships with project leaders and senior stakeholders, assessing cross-functional project team capability to enhance project/program management capability and improve collaborative development and project outcomes.
- Drive the delivery of transformative reforms to align with government priorities.
- Lead the design and implementation of a unified project management methodology, standards, and tools to drive successful project delivery.
- Develop and execute governance, reporting, and review frameworks to provide a comprehensive view of all project activity.
- Manage interdependencies and coordination across projects to ensure effective communication of project deliverables, risks, and issues among stakeholders, monitoring and evaluating key performance indicators.
- Identify and address major strategic issues, integrating stakeholder interests with the government's broader agenda to inform the prioritization of project initiatives and proactively mitigate risks.
- Collaborate across the Building Commission to optimise service delivery and achieve organizational outcomes.
- You will understand the foundations delivered by the Construct NSW strategy.
- Experience in forging partnerships with key business partners, including finance, procurement, human resources, ICT, and workplace services, to ensure efficient business operations.
- Demonstrates a profound grasp of business management principles and strategic acumen to advise the leadership group, facilitating well-informed business decisions and governance processes.
- Possesses strong consultation and communication skills, adept at presenting data effectively, responding to ministerial correspondence, and building internal and external relationships to support knowledge sharing and key initiative delivery.
- Previous experience in government or similarly regulated industries, ideally in roles reflecting a chief operating officer or similar, will be highly regarded.
- Assess current processes and practices to drive continuous improvement in operational effectiveness, streamlining business processes, enhancing capability, and delivering efficiencies while upholding high-level governance and standards.
