Context for the Position:
The Quality & Improvement Unit at Mercy Health plays a central role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and compliance with regulatory standards. As we continue our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dynamic leader to oversee and enhance our Quality & Improvement Program within the Health Services division.
About the Position:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Transformation & Performance Improvement, the Director of Quality & Improvement will lead the development and implementation of strategies to drive continuous improvement in patient care and compliance across our healthcare facilities. This role is pivotal in fostering collaboration with internal stakeholders and external bodies to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement an integrated Quality & Improvement program aligned with organisational priorities.
- Establish effective clinical governance frameworks and committees to support high-quality care delivery.
- Cultivate collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including government health departments.
- Ensure compliance with external reporting and legislative requirements.
- Support staff capability development in Quality & Improvement through education and coaching.
- Implement robust systems for incident management and clinical audit processes.
- Lead accreditation and compliance initiatives, ensuring organisational preparedness.
- Foster a culture of consumer-centred care through feedback frameworks and processes.
- Recruit and manage a high-performing team, providing direction and support for strategic objectives.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated ability to engage and empower staff to lead high-performing teams.
- Experience in developing and embedding organisation-wide Continuous Improvement methodologies and cultures.
- Understanding of the healthcare environment, including safety, quality, financial, and system drivers.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Mercy Health and Catholic Health.
