Summary
As the Director of Sales and Business Development, you will wield strategic leadership to propel innovation and growth for our esteemed organization in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Your primary responsibility is to oversee and manage Sales and Business Development activities, encompassing Power Generation, Parts and After Market Service (AMS), and Vendor and Strategic Partnerships. You will play a pivotal role in steering the company to surpass both financial and strategic objectives, contributing to its continued success and prominence in the industry.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
The Director, Sales and Business Development, holds diverse responsibilities across technical, people, and reporting/administration domains:
Technical Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies for APAC Power Generation, AMS, and Parts, ensuring budget and sales targets.
- Personally champion Power Generation offerings through market research and sales initiatives.
- Promote growth by understanding and developing the company's products and services.
- Actively participate in APAC strategic planning and represent the company at external events.
- Organize educational opportunities, nurture strategic relationships, and establish new partnerships.
- Ensure high-quality preparation of Bids and Proposals within corporate guidelines.
- Oversee sales team performance, identify market trends, and review commercial and legal terms.
- Maintain a continuous focus on improvement initiatives.
People Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to the sales team, offering coaching, tactical direction, and motivation.
- Collaborate with BD, Sales, Engineering, and other functions globally.
- Support recruitment and retention of sales talent.
- Proactively manage team performance, conducting quality reviews in line with HR cycles.
- Ensure strong communication channels within and between teams.
- Provide sales mentorship to operational employees.
Reporting & Administration Responsibilities:
- Provide regular progress reports to the Regional Director.
- Ensure adherence to routine reporting cycles and timely submissions.
- Approve limits in line with the Regional Director's authority.
In essence, the Director is responsible for driving strategic initiatives, promoting growth, managing relationships, overseeing team performance, and ensuring effective reporting and administration.
Qualifications
Required:
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- Minimum 10 years in sales or Business Development roles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Australian electric power generation industry.
- Proven ability to make cold calls and generate new business.
- Experience in equipment and project (ITK/EPC) Business Development and sales.
- Track record in leading sales teams to achieve targets.
- Ability to contribute to business strategy and operations, understanding external factors.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills.
- Competence in managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strategic planning capability.
- Self-motivated and results-driven.
- High-level negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- High level of computer literacy.
Preferred:
- Relevant postgraduate qualification.
- Sales experience across various product lines offered by Enerflex (Gas Compression, Gas Processing, AMS, Parts).
- Aptitude and experience in identifying, structuring, and brokering vendor and strategic partnerships, either within individual product lines or cross-product lines.
