The role is also responsible for the design, delivery and implementation of policy, project and reform initiatives within Victim Assist Queensland and in collaboration with other government agencies and service delivery partners.
Your key responsibilities
- Provide effective strategic leadership of VAQ's engagement with stakeholders to promote and deliver streamlined, trauma informed support to victims of crime.
- Maintain strong and effective relationships with government, government agencies, independent bodies, and non-government organisations to design, implement and deliver effective services for victims of crime.
- Drive organisational change, positive workplace culture and staff capability and provide strategic leadership to staff ensuring that they make use of individual and team capabilities, are trained equipped and supported in their role to ensure quality outcomes;
- Operationalise the strategic direction set by the Executive Director to foster a culture of excellence in the delivery of high-quality responsive services to victims of crime, and their families, in Queensland.
- Design, develop and implement policy, projects and critical reform works, in the context of building a culture of continuous improvement, and design and deploy functional solutions to service delivery staff and victims of crime.
- Lead the delivery of detailed briefings on complex sector-wide victims issues to key decision makers within VAQ, DJAG, and Government.
- Oversee and provide advice on submissions, briefs, ministerial and departmental correspondence, answers to parliamentary Questions on Notice and policy matters.
- In accordance with the strategic direction set by the Executive Director, exercise the powers and functions relevant to the role and provide high quality authoritative advice and submissions on complex and sensitive issues relating to victim support in Queensland.
- Contribute to an participate in the corporate responsibilities and functions of the Women's Safety, and Victim and Community Support division, of which VAQ is a business unit.
