About the Role
The Director, Student Wellbeing provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to each of the following areas:
Student Wellbeing Package which is:
* employing up to 464 full-time equivalent wellbeing professionals over three years to provide direct support to students in state schools; and piloting a program placing General Practitioners (GPs) in 50 Queensland state secondary schools in areas of greatest need.
* Share the Dignity in Queensland schools initiative which is supporting all Queensland state schools, outdoor and environmental education centres, and student residential centres to provide students with access to free period products and education about periods.
Additionally, the Director, Student Wellbeing leads a team of 7 and provides strategic direction for all other work of the Student Wellbeing team, including:
* student mental health and wellbeing;
* suicide prevention and postvention;
* coordination of statewide guidance services; and
* the School Based Youth Health Nurse program.
About You
You will possess exceptional leadership capabilities and a proven record of leadership success in complex environments. You will display a high level of autonomy, delegation and agility, with a comprehensive understanding of departmental policies and the ideal candidate will have some background and experience in understanding the needs of students with disability. You will demonstrate experience in navigating and managing highly complex stakeholder relationships as and drive a culture of respect and inclusivity.
