We have an exciting opportunity for a driven contemporary leader with broad experience in health care or the allied sector to lead the work of the Regional Health Collaborative.

Regional Health Collaborative(RHC)

Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service(DDH), West Moreton Hospital and Health Service (WMH) and the Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN (the PHN) have come together to implement whole of health system reform at the regional level, through the establishment of the RHC.  

RHC Purpose: 

The RHC will provide: 

  • A structured approach to collaborative action and co-commissioning. 
  • Shared priorities and measures of success. 
  • Transparency and accountability in governance. 

About the role:

To ensure the RHC works effectively to achieve whole of health system reform at the regional level, the Director will be an experienced and effective leader with excellent people skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethic. 

Reporting operationally to the CEO of the PHN, and strategically to the joint Chief Executives of the PHN, DDH and WMH, this role provides strategic leadership for the RHC. 

Key purpose of the role include:

  • Engage with key stakeholders across the PHN, DDH, WMH, ACCHOs, Queensland Health, Commonwealth Department of Health and other stakeholders and partners at all levels (including the most senior executives) to advance the purpose of the RHC. 
  • Lead the development and implementation of the RHCs strategic framework, performance accountability mechanisms and internal capability development to deliver on the RHC’s Key Focus Areas and meet the reform agenda set by the Joint Regional Executive Committee.
  • Lead the implementation and continued development of a Joint Health Intelligence Unit.
  • Provide strategic direction and operational leadership to RHC program teams to effect change and deliver collective impact on Key Focus Areas that improve the integration and access of health services and the health of the community. 
  • High level engagement, connection and consultation with key professionals and stakeholders to identify strategic, operational and health opportunities in the region, to enhance integration, improve access to health care and advance health outcomes in our region.

Required Attributes include:

The Director will be a contemporary leader within the broad experience in healthcare or allied sectors. You will demonstrate a track record of successfully driving innovation and change through a combination of strategy, structure and people, to achieve outstanding engagement and outcomes for the communities and stakeholders. You will understand government relationships and programs and have the capacity to deliver on RHC objectives to the highest level.  

  • Executive level strategic, operational and change leadership experience in health, community, or social services  
  • Deep understanding of the Australian health system and the reform agenda, contemporary commissioning practices and health care in regional and rural areas. 
  • Proven ability and experience in leading transformational change – including ability to influence  executives across agencies to bring about innovations and major reforms. 
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with proven ability to achieve results through partnerships and collaborations 
  • Significant experience building, motivating and engaging teams, mobilising capabilities and talents to achieve objectives  
  • High level communication skills, including the ability to develop high level written documentation such as strategic documents, briefing papers and plans  
  • Confident, proactive problem solver and system thinker with strong interpersonal skills  
  • Demonstrated general management experience including experience in developing and improving business systems, policies and procedures sound financial management and administrative skills  
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant field including health, human services or business, post graduate qualifications preferred 
  • Current Drivers Licence
