Relationships, culture, and heart matter every day at The Lakes College. As such we are looking to engage a passionate and relational Director of Sport and Activities to join our inclusive College Community.
As Director of Sport and Activities (P-12) you will report to the Deputy Principal (People and Culture) and have a close working relationship with other staff in leadership capacities, including the Chief Operations Officer, Primary and Secondary Leadership Teams, Director of Aquatics, Primary Sports Coordinator as well as other Teaching and Non-Teaching staff.
Strategically, you will be responsible for the vision and leadership of the College Sport program, the articulation of our philosophy in relation to Sport and our sports performance across the Primary and Secondary schools.
Operationally, you will be responsible for the delivery, development, promotion, and expert management of the College Sport and Extra Curricular program across the Primary and Secondary schools.
This is a full-time, non-teaching appointment requiring a high level of flexibility of hours to appropriately manage the demands of the TLC Sport program.
Candidates for this role must address the following selection criteria:
- Demonstrated experience as a sports administrator overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of a large and diverse sports programs for young people.
- Demonstrated communication, leadership, and motivational skills when managing and coordinating a multi-disciplinary team within a high-performance environment.
- Knowledge of NISSA (Northern Independent Schools Sporting Association) and BOSL (Brisbane Outer Schools League) or a similar sporting association.
- Proven success coordinating and managing the performance of coaching and related sport staff.
- Knowledge and understanding of child and adolescent development, behaviour and associated issues of nutrition and wellbeing.
- Demonstrated business acumen including previous experience managing Sport and Activities budgets and people resources.
- Excellent organisational skills including a demonstrated ability to connect and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- A strong commitment to and understanding of the importance of Sport, both competitive and recreational, in the development and liberal education of students
- A commitment to the vision, mission, and values of the College as a Ministry of the Uniting Church.
