Disability Employment Support Workers, Coaches And Therapy Assistants

Ability Advocates mission is to change the world for people with disabilities and their families - one person, one family and one workplace at a time.

Our Disability Employment Services are expanding across Australia! We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team in the following roles:

1. Disability Employment Support Workers: Provide Employment Support, job coaching, and skills training to individuals with disabilities in group settings and in workplaces.

2. Coaches: Support individuals with disabilities in their job search, career development, and transition to employment, and provide support and assistance to managers and businesses for inclusive workplaces.

3. Therapy Assistants: Assist psychologists and occupational therapists in providing therapy and support services to individuals with disabilities.

These roles work as a team with our allied health partners to deliver personalised and tailored employment and workplace supports for people with disabilities that help them find and keep a job, as well as create and maintain inclusive workplace environments.

Qualifications and Requirements  

• Relevant qualifications or studying in a related field (for Therapy Assistants)  
• Experience or interest in disability support and/or employment services, recruitment and workplace training
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills  
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment  
• NDIS worker screening check (for applicable roles)

Responsibilities may include:

• Providing individualised Employment Support and coaching  
• Developing tailored employment plans and strategies  
• Liaising with employers to facilitate job placements  
• Conducting therapy assistance under the supervision of psychologists and occupational therapists  
• Supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving their employment and personal goals
