Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability.

For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

We have multiple exciting opportunity to join as an APS6 IT Service Management Officer within the NDIA’s Enterprise Architecture and Governance Branch. 

The Enterprise Architecture and Governance Branch provides enabling services for the entire CIO Division including Financial and Business Management, Technical Delivery, Governance Risk and Assurance and Enterprise Architecture functions and supports ICT service delivery for Agency Staff and Partners. The branch aim is to implement a sensible and comprehensive governance strategy to ensure the successful execution and delivery of technology projects and enhancements. 

Where you can add value
The APS6 IT Service Management Officer is responsible for operational management of one of the integrated practices operated by the Service Management Office, for example: Release Management, Change Enablement, Problem Management etc. You will play a vital role in Identifying, documenting and categorising practise work items (e.g. releases, changes, problems, incidents, service requests) before engaging the relevant practice process to manage the work item through its entire lifecycle.

You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of tasks, including but not limited to: 

  • Engagement with technical owners and stakeholders and facilitation of relevant forums to enable efficient resolution of practise work items to effective business outcomes.
  • Reporting on practice operations and performance.
  • Identifying, developing, and implementing continuous improvements to practice capability, maturity, and performance.
  • Engagement with and support of other divisional directorates including, ICT Support Services and Technology Service Reliability.

Our ideal candidate will have a passion for improving and implementing systems and processes. Additionally, they have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain meaningful stakeholder relationships and experience in developing high level written reports and materials. To be successful in this role you are a team player with knowledge and experience operating autonomously and collaborating confidently at all levels.

Previous experience with Release Management, Change Enablement, Problem Management, Incident Management is highly desirable.

We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months may be offered. 
 
A merit pool will be established that may be used to fill similar positions (ongoing and non-ongoing) within the next 18 months.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
