Brighter Access is currently seeking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Disability Support Workers to join our team!
We will be supporting participants across the Lake Macquarie region including Toronto and Teralba areas, in both supported accommodation and community access.
Hours will be varied and flexible, but may include day, afternoon, evenings and sleepovers. Some of our homes require 24-hour support, so sleepovers and active nights are also available. We are open to recruiting suitable candidates for casual roles, with potential to move to permeant part time.
Ideally you will be experienced in Disability Support work, but we are also encouraging people who have lived experience providing support or those that are looking for a career change into a role that is rewarding and fulfilling to apply.
We are also able to provide access to fee-free training if you are wanting to enroll in a disability related course.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be working with participants to build their skills, independence and assisting them to achieve their goals.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Current Driver's License and own insured motor vehicle
- First Aid Certificate including CPR.
- Working with Children Check for paid employment.
- NDIS worker clearance
- Willingness to work across all Brighter Access' services and with a variety of participants.
- Commitment to inclusion & disability service standards are required.
- Being flexible and open to work a range of different shifts.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Previous experience working in the industry or a passion to learn how to support people with a disability.
- Experience in manual handling, providing personal care, medication assistance and dealing with complex behaviours.
- Meal planning and preparation experience
- Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop.
- Passion to improving the lives of people living with a disability.
