The Position
We are looking for staff with dementia experience, mental health experience, de-escalation of challenging behaviours etc.
Must be ok with taking clients in your own car for appointments and community access.
Knowledge of Restrictive Practices is desirable but not mandatory. Training will be provided.

You will be working in a supportive environment with staff who are focused on ensuring our clients receive professional care and support to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. Training and support will be provided to assist you to become a quality Support Worker.
You will be working independently or in a team and have the flexibility to work across a variety of shifts including weekdays, weekends, nights, sleepovers, and respite care. Applicants MUST be available for ALL shift varieties. The position job type is permanent part-time.

General Duties
As directed by management, and in-line with the client’s NDIS goals, duties may include:
· Personal care – showering, dressing, catheter care, tube feeding etc.
· Domestic duties – mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, laundry etc.
· Food preparation – shopping, preparing, cooking, clean up etc.
· Lifestyle needs – assisting with making and attending medical appointments etc.
· Attending respites, providing meals, attending activities, 24/7 care etc.
· Capacity building – assist clients to attend capacity building activities relevant to their support needs.
· Community access – assist with attending personal and community events etc.
· Write and submit required reports and attend to daily reporting required by our organisation.
· Other duties as required.

Skills and Competencies
Strong Communication skills.
Competent writing, comprehension, and verbal skills.

Ability to follow instructions and work within the limitations of the position.
Ability to work independently.
Requirements
Either have or willing to obtain a Certificate III in Disabilities, Mental Health or a related industry (deemed by the employer).
First Aid and CPR
Current Qld driver's license
Reliable vehicle and full comprehensive Insurance.
You will be required to apply for or hold a current blue card and yellow card (or NDIS Worker Screening)
NDIS Worker Orientation Modules.
