Day to day, being a support Worker can include social support and companionship, recreational and community based activities, behavioral support, providing transportation and supporting participants with complex needs.
Assistance with personal care, light domestic duties, meal preparation, cleaning and the use of assistive equipment such as wheelchairs, hoists, and walking frames may also be required.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
Experience
· Demonstrated experience/knowledge of issues affecting people with disability.
· Demonstrated experience in providing functional support within a case management framework.
· Qualifications in Disability services field (or equivalent relevant experience).
· Demonstrated computer literacy including word processing, Excel and Outlook.
· Demonstrated ability to work autonomously to ensure job/responsibilities are completed on time.
Communication and Teamwork
· Demonstrated ability to establish working relationships with a wide range of people and Organisations.
· Demonstrated sound written and oral communication skills to communicate with staff at all levels of the organisation.
· Demonstrated sound organisational skills including an ability to see tasks through to completion.
Quality
· Demonstrated understanding of continuous quality improvement.
· Workplace Health and Safety
· Demonstrated ability to comply with all relevant Workplace Health and Safety legislation.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Under relevant legislation and policies and procedures of Liberty Health Services, the successful applicant will be required to obtain a Police Certificate.
· Where applicable, Disability Services Queensland screening and Working with Children Check will also be required.
· Current Queensland Driver’s Licence.
· Current First Aid Certificate with CPR.
· Own vehicle with comprehensive insurance
