Job Description: As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives. You will provide personalized care and assistance tailored to the unique needs and preferences of each client, empowering them to participate actively in their communities. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Providing emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering positive relationships built on trust and respect.
- Supporting clients in accessing community resources, recreational activities, and social events to promote social inclusion and participation.
- Implementing individualized support plans developed in collaboration with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitoring and documenting clients' progress, behaviours, and any changes in their health or well-being.
- Advocating for clients' rights, preferences, and choices, ensuring they have a voice in decisions affecting their lives.
- Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for clients, adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements:
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Patience, resilience, and flexibility in responding to the diverse needs of clients.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and relevant training.
- Previous experience in Disability Support or a related field is desirable but not essential.
