About the role
Support Worker’s role is to provide support to people with disability to achieve their goals and live their best lives. This is done through developing their skills, confidence, relationships, and health, to promote independence, participation, inclusion, and contribution to their community.
Valued Lives Support Workers will assist people to live a life that reflects individual needs and family values and is in alignment with the goals outlined in an individual’s NDIS plan.
Various shifts available including day shifts and / or weekend shifts, are available.
Skills and experience
Essential
- Reliability and the ability to multitask and adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
- Experience working with people accessing the NDIS, their families and wider team.
- Be able to be flexible and have some autonomy with your work whilst working as part of a team
- Experience working with people with challenging behavior
- A positive and enthusiastic work ethic.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience of working with positive behaviour support plans
- Experienced at supporting people in their homes
- Experience working with people accessing the NDIS, their families and wider team.
- Experience working with people who don't use words to speak.
- Relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable.
Screening prerequisites (required prior to commencement in the role):
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Motor vehicle registration
- Current WA Driver’s License
- Proof of valid work rights in Australia
- Department of Health - COVID-19 infection control training
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
