The Role
We are seeking enthusiastic, committed and engaging Disability Support Workers.
Disability Support Workers are responsible for providing direct support which aims to promote the dignity of the participants. You may be required to work with children (one-on-one) and adults (one-on-one or group) or at times work alongside other Disability Support Workers to meet the individual needs of our participants.
This role may include weekend, evening and overnight shifts.
More specifically, some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Contribute to the daily operation of services that provide life skills development, social inclusion and vocational opportunities for people with a disability
- Ensure participants maintain and develop everyday life skills and increase their independence
- Implement and record progress of innovative programs to meet individual participant’s goals in conjunction with their National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) plan
- Promote effective communication ensuring information regarding participant needs and site operations are adequately and appropriately shared within the site
- Transport participants when and where necessary in order to ensure access to services/programs
This role requires all applicants to have:
- A Certificate III or CERT IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent (Applicants who show a commitment to, or who are currently undertaking study in the above qualification will be seriously considered);
- Evidence of, or be prepared to be fully COVID-19 Vaccinated (at least 3 Doses);
- Valid NSW Driver Licence;
- National Criminal History Check;
- NDIS Worker Check Clearance (can be obtained prior to employment);
- Working With Children Check (employee);
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003/HLTAID011 or higher);
- A Registered vehicle that is Comprehensively insured;
- Experience within the industry (highly desirable).
