Job Description: We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Casual NDIS Disability Support Workers. In this role, you will provide flexible support to individuals with disabilities in the Hawkesbury, Penrith, Camden, Campbelltown and surrounding areas (depending on your location), offering assistance as needed to help them achieve their goals and participate fully in their communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing person-centered support services to participants in accordance with NDIS plans and individual goals.
- Assisting participants with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks, as required.
- Supporting participants to engage in recreational and social activities, fostering community connections and inclusion.
- Offering emotional support and encouragement to participants, promoting their autonomy and self-confidence.
- Documenting participant progress, activities, and any incidents accurately and promptly.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, case managers, and family members, to ensure coordinated and holistic support.
- Adhering to relevant safety standards and protocols to ensure the well-being of clients and staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, Community Services, or a related field (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience working in Disability Support or a related field preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to changing participant needs.
- Understanding of the NDIS framework and principles, with knowledge of relevant policies and procedures.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Current driver's license with comprehensive car insurance.
- NDIS Workers Screen Check.
- Police Check.
