Job description

  • Are you a fantastic Disability Support Worker?
  • Are you looking for consistent weekly shifts?
  • $42.09 p/h weekdays after induction, plus salary packaging (pay less tax)

We're looking for Disability Support Workers with great communication skills, an adaptable personality, experience supporting people with a spinal cord injury as well as personal care and hoisting experience. If you're looking to be part of a great team, we'd love to hear from you!

We are recruiting for Thursday 6:00PM to 10:30PM and Friday evening sleepovers 8:30PM-9:30AM.

About us

We’re InLife. A not-for-profit Disability Support provider that specialises in working with people with frequent and complex support needs, including 24/7 assistance.

We build teams around every client, depending on each person’s needs and preferences. We partner with people with any type of disability who want to live independently in the community (and we love to make that happen!). That’s why our assistants are so important.

Our clients may have physical disability, acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, intellectual disability or autism. We’re honoured that many of our clients rely solely on InLife for their essential support needs. Nobody else. Just us.

Our teams are based in Melbourne, Geelong and regional Victoria, including Benalla, Wangaratta, Stawell and Bendigo.

To do a great job, you’ll need:

  • Experience and skills in supporting clients who display behaviours of concern (BOC)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good judgement and common sense, listening skills, a willingness to learn and a commitment to our values
  • Current NDIS check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Full drivers licence and be willing and able to transfer clients in your vehicle (we reimburse you for costs)
  • Experience in personal care (showering and dressing) and assistance with domestic duties
  • Experience in mental health
  • Enthusiasm and passion for supporting people with disabilities to live great lives, and willing to put in the time and energy to build rapport with your client
  • Commitment to working with a care team approach, including guidance from professionals. For example, supporting our clients to complete a regular physiotherapy program

**Please note - when you apply you will receive an email asking you for some further details - please look out for it!

As part of our recruitment process, certain checks will be undertaken with your permission, including an NDIS Worker Screening Check that you must have before you can start work.

We encourage all of our staff to be vaccinated for COVID-19 and current recommendations about vaccination can be found on ATAGI website.

InLife is committed to ensuring the rights, safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. We have a zero tolerance of child abuse and every InLife employee has a responsibility to make sure all children and young people are safe and feel safe.

Benefits

  • We offer great pay, generous benefits and a supportive team culture
  • You can also access salary packaging (can mean extra take-home pay)
  • Opportunity for career progression - a clear career path for assistants who want to progress into team leader or coordinator roles

A word about diversity and inclusion

At InLife, diversity and inclusion is part of our DNA. We celebrate the amazing differences we all bring to our work and we actively ensure that everyone feels safe and supported in our workplaces.

We welcome and encourage applications from everyone and our hiring decisions will never be based on things such as your gender identity, disability, age, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or cultural background - because they simply aren’t relevant to doing an awesome job (and you are protected from this kind of discrimination under Australian law)

We also know that we continue to learn more about inclusion every day, so if there is something you think we could do differently to make InLife a place you could picture yourself working, we’re all ears.
