About the role:
We have an exciting and rewarded support opportunity to share with you. Located in Brunswick, you will be part of a care team to support a female client living with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). We are on the lookout for skilled, high-intensity Disability Support Workers, available for an active night shift roster. You will provide assistance with all aspects of daily living, predominantly involving manual handling and personal care, administration and management of medication and PEG feeding and pressure area care. You will play a crucial role in helping our client work towards achieving their goals, and you will be assisted by a supportive team of staff during your induction and training period, to ensure you are equipped with the necessary skills to provide quality care for our client.
Your key responsibilities:
Our team is looking for a passionate and friendly Disability Support Worker who can undertake the following key responsibilities:
- Provide support with all activities of daily living
- Pressure area care and management
- Manual handling using a hoist
- Personal care and hygiene support
- PEG feeding and management
- Medication administration
- Provide ongoing support to our client in achieving their short and long-term goals
About you:
To join our team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:
- Minimum Certificate III or Certificate IV in Disability or related field (essential)
- Accredited Manual Handling certificate (or willing to obtain - essential)
- Accredited Medication Administration certificate (or willing to obtain - essential)
- Personal care experience
- PEG feeding and management experience
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- NDIS Worker's Screening Check
- Valid Victorian driver's licence
