About the Role
Mosaic Support Services (Mosaic) has a number of permanent part-time and casual opportunities for the role of Disability Support Worker (DSW) working across our Community Access (CA) programs Fit for Life, Create and Know How.
As a Disability Support Worker (DSW), you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
Direct Support: providing support and guidance in all aspects of the delivery of services to clients in the provision of effective, efficient & client focused Community Access programs.
Activities: supporting the implementation of programs, activities and experiences for clients that create a stimulating environment and broadening opportunities inclusive of client interests and skills.
Communication: communicating with clients and families to ensure the best experience possible for clients.
Emotional Support: Building meaningful relationships with clients, actively listening to their needs, and promoting their well-being.
Advocacy: Advocating for the rights and dignity of individuals with disabilities within the organization and the broader community.
The Support Worker works across our Community Access programs operating during the day Monday – Friday between the hours of 9:00am to 3:15pm, with potential after hour shifts offered within our social program space offered on an ad-hoc basis.
A bit about you
We are looking for candidates with a diverse range of experience supporting people with a disability including children and young people. This may include working with clients with a disability, trauma-based behaviours, residential care setting, education and/or experience in the aged care sector.
We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated and diligent individuals, with the ability to think on their feet. They will be resilient, and solutions focused with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
We are looking for candidates who are available to work Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00am to 3.15pm.
Essential Requirements
Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Employee, not volunteer) preferable with NDIS endorsement.
A National Criminal History Background Check no older than 6 months.
Australian Drivers Licence.
HLTAID011 or HLTAID003 Current First Aid Certificate.
HLTHSP006 Assist clients with medication.
HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems.
NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You.
Our Desirable Requirements
Hold a minimum of Certificate 3 in community services / or a similar qualification; and
Trauma Informed Care (TIC) Training.
