Who will you be supporting?
A 16 year old living with her family at Annerley. She enjoys creative activities including singing, dancing and the theatre, and is a big fan of Taylor Swift and Harry Styles. She lives with Down syndrome. Some of her goals for this year include meeting new friends who share similar creative interests and she'd like to learn how to drive and play guitar.
What support is required?
Monday and Tuesday afternoons 2:45-5:45pm, and either Wednesday or Thursday afternoon 2:45-5:45pm. Occasional Saturdays and more hours available during school holidays. Shifts will begin with school pick-up and then heading home for afternoon activities which may include:
- Assistance with homework
- Support and encouragement with learning life skills such as cooking and helping with household chores
- Support with personal care
- Social activities such as singing lessons and getting out and about
About you…
The client is seeking a Support Worker who:
- Shares similar interests and is preferably female and in their 20s or 30s.
- Ideally has experience working with people living with Down Syndrome however this is not essential.
- Encourages independence and is confident in supporting the client to learn new skills.
- Has an ABN and their own public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
- Driver’s licence and own vehicle.
