Bayley House is a well-established and reputable NDIS provider supporting adults with an intellectual disability to live a full and enriched life. We support people to develop skills and independence through a range of programs including community engagement through work readiness and work experience placements, skill development, creative activities, recreation opportunities, health and wellbeing awareness and skill development. We are passionate about inclusion and empowering people with a disability to have a voice.
We currently have casual opportunities for 2024, for professionals with experience running programs and one on one support. Based out of Brighton, Hampton East and Highett. Hours of work are 8.15am to 3.50pm, Monday to Friday.
The Role:
We are looking for passionate and energetic people with the right skills and experience to develop and run programs supporting people with intellectual disability, including providing daily supports such as assisting with meals and personal care.
As well as experience with running programs and supporting people with intellectual disability you will need to complete a range of non-face-to-face administrative tasks. This includes goal monitoring, NDIS progress reports and updating support plans and incident reports, so being efficient with the necessary computer and writing skills is essential.
About you:
To be considered for these opportunities you will:
- Certificate IV in Disability or relevant qualification e.g. special education teacher
- Have experience providing personal care support
- Be passionate about supporting people with a disability
- Punctual and reliable
- Enjoy working with other staff to get things done
- Be able to communicate with clients with different support needs
- Update client records and communication diaries on time
- Adhere to all manual handling and OH&S requirements
- Have basic computer skills
- Current First Aid Certificate, Driver's License, NDIS Worker Screening Check and completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module, or willingness to obtain
- Experience working with behaviours of concern and complex needs would be highly desirable for this role
