Full Job Description
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide assistance to a participant to enable them to live independently in a home environment. The participant you will be supporting requires personal care such as showering and toileting. They have several behaviours of Concern so you will need to have experience in working with Participants with HIGH Behaviours. You need to be reliable, trustworthy, have good interpersonal skills and flexibility with a genuine belief in upholding the rights of people with a disability with a person-centred approach.
Job Responsibilities and Duties may include:
- Extensive experience in working with Challenging behaviours
- Assisting with personal care
- Assistance with menu planning, shopping, preparation and assistance with meals
- Assist participants to fulfil activities of daily living
- Domestic assistance
- Assistance with medication
- Support participants with daily routine
- Supporting Participants to Medical Appointments
- Completing all documentation required as per SYI procedures
Essential
NDIS Worker Check
Drivers licence
Preferred
- Experience with working with people with high care needs or willing to learn
- Knowledge and commitment to WH&S procedures
Job Type: Casual
Schedule: Shift work, the hours are set out below, please do not apply for this role if you are unable to work the shift times below:
Monday to Friday 3pm-9am (sleepover shift)
Saturday & Sundays 7am - 3pm & 3pm-7am (sleepover shift)
You will be paid inline with the SCHADS award for Pay rate, and receive a sleepover allowance when working sleepover shifts.
