As a Disability Support Worker at Bamara, you will play a crucial role in providing essential support to individuals under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). This casual position within the Community Services department offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those with disabilities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting individuals with daily tasks and activities as outlined in their NDIS plans.
- Providing emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
- Implementing person-centred approaches to support clients in achieving their personal goals and aspirations.
- Supporting clients in developing life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals, families, and other support networks to ensure holistic care for clients.
- Maintaining accurate records of client progress and any incidents or observations in accordance with NDIS requirements.

- Experience in providing support to individuals with disabilities highly regarded
- Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its processes
- Sufficient availability to work across a 24 hour 7 day a week roster
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with disabilities, their families, and support networks
- Understanding of person-centred approaches to Disability Support
- Capability to assist individuals with daily living tasks and personal care as required
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to varying needs and situations
- Empathy, patience, and compassion when working with individuals with disabilities
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a collaborative environment
- Current First Aid certification
