Who are we?
Heritage Stone Foundation offers support frameworks based on cultural foundations, positive inclusion, diversity and opportunity for those aiming to achieve their goals. Personalised support is provided to people living with disability, disadvantaged and vulnerable youth.
The role:
We are seeking passionate, motivated, and caring team members to provide high quality support to our NDIS participants. This exciting opportunity assists those in the community requiring 24/7 support, within the Cairns area. There are a range of shifts available to suit your lifestyle, including eight-hour day shifts, as well as passive and active overnights.
You will be helping our participants live their best life every day, from in home care to transporting within the community including attending appointments and connecting with community members, cultural events, family and friends. A day in the life of a Support Worker includes;
- Administering medication
- Organise meals and support with personal hygiene care
- Support the key goals for independent everyday life skills
- Implement strategies that align with behaviour management plans
- Household duties
- Active and wellbeing activities
- Social engagement.
All about you:
Heritage stone foundation family are looking for those with a genuine passion for working in DISABILITY SUPPORT. You will be a strong verbal and written communicator, with skills in establishing effective working relationships with community members and organisations.
You will also need;
- Blue Card for Working with Children (currently hold or be eligible to apply for),
- NDIS Worker Screening (currently hold or be eligible to apply for), • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate,
- NDIS Orientation module,
- Driver’s licence and insured car at your disposal, • Certificate III or above in a related discipline (highly regarded),
- Smartphone with internet access, and
- Understanding and respect for Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities.
