If so, we invite you to join our team at Wisdom Care as a Disability Support Worker specializing in Mental Health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Person-Centered Care: Provide personalised and holistic support to individuals with complex care needs, focusing on their unique Mental Health requirements.
- Emotional Support: Offer empathetic and compassionate support to clients dealing with Mental Health challenges. Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages personal growth and independence.
- Skill Development: Assist individuals in acquiring and enhancing daily living skills, coping mechanisms, and social integration skills to promote a sense of autonomy and self-confidence.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond calmly and effectively to crisis situations, employing de-escalation techniques and following established protocols. Collaborate with relevant professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely records of client progress and/or incidents on a daily basis.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with all stakeholders and colleagues to provided tailored support.
Qualifications:
- Experience in providing support to individuals with complex care needs, particularly in the Mental Health field.
- Relevant qualifications in Disability Support, Mental Health, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of person-centered care principles and trauma-informed practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
