We have severeal permanent part-time opportunities working 20 hours+ / fortnight on a fixed roster. Paying $32.20 (base) hourly rate
Uniting is seeking a flexible and dedicated Support Worker to connect with participants living independently in their homes across the Central Coast from Narara, The Entrance, Bateau Bay to Killarney Vale.
The role of a Life Skills Supporter is responsible for assisting people on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), to identify and achieve their goals, connecting and accessing the community, maximising their independence and the ability to make choices about things that matter to them.
About You
- Ability to connect and communicate with people living with disability
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
- Tech savvy with demonstrated experience using various record keeping applications
- Clear and effective communication skills and ability to establish a professional relationship with participant and their families
- An understanding of the complex needs of a person with a disability, their families and carers; and how to implement person-centred plans in line with identified goals of the individual
- Comfortable and confident to work independently
- Experience supporting participants from Aboriginal and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds would be advantageous
- Current paid Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Check
- Full NSW Drivers licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
