New England Support Services is currently seeking Supported Independent Living Support Workers to join our friendly team in the Armidale area.

For this role we are looking for people who will focus on the individual needs of the client, their autonomy, and community engagement. You will be expected to not only fulfill practical tasks but also contribute to the overall well-being and quality of life for the client.
We’re looking for multiple candidates for home care (SIL) roles as well as community access.
- Primary Focus:
- Support participants in maintaining well-being.
- Facilitate the development of lifelong skills.
- Assist participants in working towards their goals.
- Provide opportunities for choice, control, and participation in home matters.
- Assist with household management and daily activities based on individual needs.
- Community and Social Interaction:
- Provide access to community and social activities.
- Foster community and activity participation for participants.
- Facilitate community inclusion and participation for relationship-building and interests.
- Duties:
- Support with daily living skills.
- Provide personal care.
- Handle household tasks.
- Support health and well-being.
- Provide overnight care and support.
- Assist with domestic tasks and household management.
- Aid in meal preparation.
- Support the use of assistive technology.
- Accompany to appointments and assist with grocery shopping.
- Shifts:
- Shift times vary across the week.
- May include weekend work.
- Overnight shifts may be part of the schedule.
Mandatory Requirements include:
- Have the ability to work over 7-day roster, including evenings
- Available for sleepover and night shifts
- NDIS Worker's Check (NDISWC)
- National Police Children Check
- Current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Australian Drivers License
- A comprehensively insured, reliable vehicle
Preferred but not essential;
- Manual handling training
- Administration of medication training
- Industry experience will be highly regarded
- Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent
- Experience working with challenging behaviours
