About the role
We are seeking the service of a Disability Support Worker to join our Sunshine Coast team.
As a Support Worker you will be responsible for:
- providing support to participants with physical and/or intellectual disabilities;
- understanding and providing appropriate care to participants, empowering them to live independently;
- assisting participants with activities relating to daily living, community support, and empowerment;
- assisting participants with personal care;
- helping with household chores, such as cooking, laundry and cleaning;
- supporting participants with grocery shopping and/or medical appointments; and
- providing social support to participants and helping them engage in social activities.
Skills and experience
Previous experience as a Disability Support Worker or experience within the disability sector is desired but not essential.
About You
As a Disability Support Worker, you:
- will have the desire to help each individual achieve their goals;
- have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
- must be able to comprehend and implement support plans provided to you by All Rise Supports;
- are confident, proactive, engaging, and adaptable;
- must be able to work autonomously as well as being a part of a team; and
- must be available to attend all training and team meetings organised by All Rise Supports.
The successful applicants must have a current National Police Clearance, NDIS workers screening check (or willing to obtain one), a current Australian Driver’s Licence, an ABN and Professional Indemnity, Public Liability and Car Insurance. The applicant must have the legal right to work in Australia.
