Disability Support Worker

• ·       Provide direct care assistance to each individual in accordance with their service plan.
• ·        Work in accordance with the medication administration policy, work health and safety procedures.
• ·        Support individuals to participate in age appropriate activities and tasks including employment, in home support and community access.
• ·        Support individuals to access activities and outings in the community.
• ·        Monitor the safety and well-being of the individuals
• ·        Responsible for implementing training and support services aimed at maximising the living, employment, social and recreational skills.
• ·        Promote community inclusion, independence, decision making and personal choice of the individuals.

We are building our team and are seeking experienced Support Workers. We are looking for people who can join immediately and help grow our team in Kununurra.

ESSENTIAL:

• ·        Genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with special needs
• ·        Reliable character
• ·        Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work and communicate effectively with individuals, their families, community organisations and other professionals
• ·        Ability to work in a very busy environment and to work both independently and as part of a team
• ·        Understanding of privacy and confidentiality issues
• ·        Valid WA driver’s License
• ·        NDIS Worker Screening Check
• ·        First Aid certificate
• ·        A current Working with Children Check

 DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

• ·        Certificate III or higher in Disability
• ·        Experience in the delivery of personal care services and/or behaviours that challenge is viewed favourably

• 1 year of relevant work experience required for this role
• Working rights required for this role
• Expected start date for role: 13 May 2024
• Expected salary: $33 - $40 per hour
