Disability Support Worker

About the Company:
Unidex Healthcare are a privately owned recruitment company established in 2001 and operate across Australia, with our main offices in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

The Role:
We are currently looking for Disability Support Workers to partner with a 17-year-old female participant based in Casino, NSW. Our participant recently sustained a spinal cord injury which has resulted in the loss of lower limb & some upper limb movement.

The current care plan in place requires support 24 hours a day. There are Morning shifts, Afternoon shifts and Inactive-night shifts available. The available shifts are as follows:

• The Morning shift hours will be (8:30am - 4:00pm) & (8:30am - 10:30am).
• The Afternoon shift hours will be (4pm - 10pm) & (6:00pm - 8:00pm).
• The Inactive Overnight shift will be (10pm-6am).

Due the complexity of the participant, successful candidates must have experience with bowel therapy OR be willing to learn these skills (administering enema and digital stimulation), catheter management and hoisting. Training will be provided.

Pay Rates:

• Inactive Overnight - $100.00 per shift
• Afternoon - $44.00 per hour
• Saturday - $56.00 per hour
• Sunday - $72.00 per hour
• Day - $40.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Assistance with bowel therapy (administering enema and digital stimulation)
• Assistance with domestic tasks including cleaning & meal preparation
• Assistance with catheter management (including applying leg bag)
• Assistance with Health & Rehab exercises
• Community access + rehab appointments
• Hoisting (full hoist/sling hoist)
• Assistance with personal care
• Completing skin checks
• Prompting Medication

• Reliable, proactive and positive attitude
• NDIS Effective Communication Module
• Infection Control Training - Covid19
• Current National Police Clearance
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Current NDIS Screening check
• First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Australian Driver Licence
• Current WWCC
