Direct Care Assistance (DCA), a leading NDIS service provider, is currently seeking a Disability Support worker to provide exceptional care services to a participant in Winchelsea and assist our client with various needs.
As a Support Worker you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to our clients facing various challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate communication and coordination between clients, Support Workers, and family member, ensuring that their needs are met effectively. This role requires a compassionate and empathetic approach, as well as excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Shifts: Monday - Sunday (around the clock care)
Start Date: 2nd week of February.
- 7am to 3pm
- 3pm to 10pm
- 10pm to 7am (active night)
What are we looking for?
- Strong background in mental health
- Positive attitude
- Creative and hands on to promote participant.
- Experienced in dealing with clients with behavior of concerns.
- Critical thinker
- Able to work under pressure
- Must have a car, valid Victorian Driver's License and a Comprehensive Car Insurance
- Must have Medication Administration & Manual Handling Certificate
- Has excellent communication skills
- Knowledgeable in writing progress notes
What You'll be doing? (Essential Duties)
- Assist with personal care tasks such as showering, toileting, and dressing.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills.
- Collaborate in the completion of care plans, risk assessments, reviews, and incident & accident reporting.
- Provide support for the client's daily routines and activities.
- Facilitate community access and engagement.
- Participate in both in-house and external activities.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Comfortably interact with pets, including dogs.
Support Worker needs to have:
- Current relevant qualification (Certificate III or IV in Disability)
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Eligibility to Work in Australia.
- Valid Driver's License
- Comprehensive Car Insurance
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (If not already completed, please visit https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/ to complete the course)
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (3 shots required)
- Police Check (Fit to work is acceptable)
- Manual Handling Certificate
- Medication Administration
