About the role
We are seeking a caring and motivated Disability Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing comprehensive support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and live fulfilling lives.
Shifts are 4 hours a day from 9am to 1pm with the potential to increase to 6 hours for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in meaningful and positive conversations, promoting mental well-being
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Assist with transporting clients using a wheelchair, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Supporting the client in their daily activities and community engagement
- Work well under pressure, maintaining a calm and positive demeanor in challenging situation
- Be pet-friendly, the role may require interaction and care for clients pet
- Keep accurate and detailed records of client progress, including epilepsy seizure management
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant qualifications in Disability, Mental Health, or a related field
- Medication Administration certification
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Workers Checks
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate from within last 12 months
- Licence
- Car registration
- Fully comprehensive Insurance
- Infectious control certificate
- NDIS Orientation Module
