Company Overview: My Ability Australia is an Adelaide-based company dedicated to providing comprehensive care for highly complex clients with disabilities, helping them lead happier lives. We work primarily through Supported Independent Living (SIL) arrangements, with a team of dedicated Disability Support Workers providing at-home services and care. Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Disability Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing intensive support to individuals with complex disabilities and challenging behavioural complexities, helping them navigate daily challenges and achieve their goals. We work with people living with disability who are managing complex behaviours on their return to home pathway.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-intensity support to clients with complex disabilities, including personal care, behavioural support, domestic duties and community participation. 
  • Stay up to date with and implement individualised behaviour support plans tailored to each client's unique needs and goals.
  • Assist clients in accessing community resources and participating in social and recreational activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, healthcare professionals, and family members, to ensure coordinated care and support.
  • Monitor and document client progress, behaviours, and any changes in condition, reporting any concerns to the appropriate team members.
  • Promote independence and self-advocacy skills among clients, empowering them to make choices and decisions about their lives.

Essential Criteria

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability or equivalent qualification   
  • NDIS Worker Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Police Check (no older than 12 months)
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Right to Work in Australia
  • COVID-19 and Flu Vaccination 
  • Proven experience working with individuals with complex disabilities, including behavioural support needs.
  • Strong understanding of disability rights, person-centred approaches, and trauma-informed care principles.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred).
