Position Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and experienced Support workers to join our team in the Caboolture area for a participant with complex needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing person-centred care and will be adept at working with individuals with complex needs. Permanent part time opportunities are available for the right candidate(s) after an initial trial period.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support in line with tailored support plans to individuals with complex needs
- Build and maintain trusting and respectful relationships with clients.
- Utilize trauma-informed principles and practices in daily support activities
- Communicate effectively with clients, families and other stake holders.
- Adapt quickly to changing situations and respond calmly and effectively to crisis or challenging behaviours.
- Implement and adhere to restrictive practices when necessary.
Skills and Experience required:
- Demonstrated experience in supporting individuals with complex needs including PTSD, Autism, Trauma and Mental Health issues.
- Strong commitment to delivering person-centred care
- Understanding of Trauma-informed principles & practises
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Empathy, patience and a non-judgmental approach to supporting vulnerable individuals
- Ability to adapt quickly and respond effectively in crisis situations
- Familiarity with restrictive practises

Qualifications, Licenses & Certificates
- Cert III or IV in Disability (or a related field) preferred
- NDIS Screening Card (Must have or willing to obtain)
- Blue Card - Working with children check (Must have or willing to obtain)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (Must have or willing to obtain)
- A valid Queensland Driver License - minimum P2 Green (Must have)
- Evidence of your Right to Work in Australia (Must have)
- Reliable vehicle with Comprehensive insurance for Transporting clients (we offer KM reimbursement)
