Qualifications & experience
Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent required
NDIS worker orientation module
Experience with any of the following will be highly regarded - ASD, Down Syndrome, Mental health, Personal care, Medication management, hoisting, enteral feeding, and stoma care.
Current first aid & CPR
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current national police check (or willing to obtain)
Open Driver licence
Access to a smartphone
Tasks & responsibilities
Individualised community-based support
Support & skill building in home and in the community
Working with participants to develop independence and daily living skills
Providing personal care to participants
Contribute to the ongoing development of a person-centred team
Assist with medications and other duties as specified per the participant support plan
Maintain participant records to ensure consistent and quality care
Actively contribute to a team environment through open communication, participation in regular staff meetings, planning and reviews
Be adaptable to changing circumstances and being able to prioritise work
Display a client-focused and person-centred manner
Assessing clients' needs and planning, developing and implementing educational, training and support programs
Interviewing clients and assessing the nature and extent of difficulties
Monitoring and reporting on the progress of clients
Assessing community need and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other facilities and services
Supporting families and providing education and care for children and disabled persons in adult service units, group housing and government institutions
Assisting young people to solve social, emotional and financial problems
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $60,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
