Disaster Operations Capability Leader
About your new role
The Disaster Operations Capability Leader performs a critical function within the Disaster and Emergency Management Unit team providing a team leader function for operational capability. This is a leadership role where you will be supporting three operational capability team members.
Additionally, in this role your objectives are to;
Build and maintain capability for the Local Disaster Coordination Centre (LDCC)
Ensuring the City is compliant with the Disaster Management Act, 2003
Implement the Queensland Emergency Risk Management Framework process into disaster management risk identification, mitigation, response and recovery in conjunction with the Climate Adaptation Team
Maintain and support Gold Coast State Emergency Service with fleet, ICT and facilities

We're looking for people who have:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with particular emphasis in the areas of Stakeholder engagement
Proven supervisory experience gained within a multi-disciplinary function including the ability to develop, coach, guide, mentor and motivate staff.
Highly developed consultation, advocacy, negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability to initiate, formulate, implement, monitor and evaluate new strategies.
Please note it is a mandatory requirement of this position that the successful candidate holds a Working With Children Blue Card prior to commencement. If you do not currently hold a valid Working With Children Blue Card, we will accept your application with the view that you will apply for and obtain the Working With Children Blue Card prior to starting, should you be successful.
