Access theAs our Disaster Response and Recovery Officer, you will:

  • Develop and/or assist with the development of Disaster Response and Recovery project documentation, including formal project management plans, budgets and estimates.
  • Actively participate and contribute to Disaster Response and Recovery project activities, identify obstacles, implement remedial actions and/or make recommendations to support the achievement of organisational goals and objectives.
  • Ensure Disaster Response and Recovery projects are completed within quality standards and to the highest level, ensuring that relevant policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken occurs.
  • Develop, monitor and regularly report on Disaster Response and Recovery project progress against agreed criteria.
  • Maintain Disaster Response and Recovery project/program files in accordance with departmental regulations, policies and other statutory obligations.
  • Research and prepare quality reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations and other correspondence as required.
  • Manage workloads effectively, complete tasks and meet commitments within agreed to timeframes and/or expectations.
  • Establish, maintain and enhance positive and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage and consult with key stakeholders to identify emerging issues and develop solutions that will mitigate risk and achieve project outcomes.
  • Participate in emergency responses, applying everyday work capabilities within a disaster or biosecurity response environment. Appropriate training and guidance will be provided.
  • Undertake out of hours work and activities.
  • Undertake other activities of the business unit as directed.
