This position is in the Disciplinary Action Unit responsible for the disciplinary process in relation to Licence Holders.
About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Building Commission NSW's Disciplinary Action Unit for a Disciplinary Officer. This role will suit an individual with practical experience in legal administration and advanced legal research skills. This position involves assisting the entire team in carrying out processes to initiate and conclude disciplinary proceedings under legislation administered by Building Commission NSW. Would suite law student with experience.
In this role, you will

- Provide a range of administrative functions to the entire team/unit to enable efficient business operations.
- Develop, implement and monitor office systems, procedures and methods, adapting processes and techniques as required, to facilitate efficient team/unit operations in line with agency standards, policies and procedures.
- Assist with the preparation of Disciplinary documents, including drafting cover letters, compiling annexures, completing footnotes and proof-reading.
- Conduct legal research as required.
- Supervise Administrative Officers.
To be successful you will have

- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with Legal research and possess high level problem solving and analytic skills.
- High level of working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products including but not limited to Word, SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, Power Point.
- Ability to collect, analyse and manage data and produce relevant reports and/or presentations.
- Experience performing a wide range of administrative tasks with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgement, discretion and initiative, prioritising work and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a high processing team environment.

Salary Clerk Grade 5/6, with the base salary for this role starting at $93,295 base plus superannuation
