DSI Underground (a SANDVIK owned company) is one of Australia’s largest, leading manufacturers, suppliers and exporters of specialist strata reinforcement and support products to the underground coal and metalliferous mining sectors. DSI Underground also provides galvanising and other related services to the mining, civil, marine, commercial, and industrial industries.
About the Position
Based at our Kewdale (Perth) site and reporting to The Production Supervisor, the Galvanising Dispatch and Logistics Coordinator duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Core duties include:
- Planning and monitoring of outbound transport function and activities in terms of operations.
- Specifically planning and directing transport for delivery and pick-up from customers.
- Liaise with various stakeholders, including drivers, contractors and internal staff contacts.
- Provide and direct Drivers & Fettling Leading Hand or load out Forklift Operator Dispatch list to allow efficient load out of Vehicles.
- Manage yard layout to allow quick and accurate job identification, receivables laydown space and loading and unloading of materials in an efficient manner.
- Evaluate delivery deadlines and take corrective action to eliminate behind schedule conditions and liaise effectively necessary parties.
- Help Reception manage customer Drop-offs.
- Co-ordinate product that needs galvanising and delivery between all plants.
About you
To be considered for this opportunity you will have:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe loading and unloading procedures
- Demonstrated organisational skills
- Good analytical and planning skills
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
