The National Institute of Integrative Medicine (NIIM) is Australia’s largest integrative clinic, providing high-quality healthcare services to the community.
NIIM brings together education and research in Integrative Medicine, as well as facilitating its practice at the NIIM Clinic in Melbourne. NIIM's Dispensary

The Role
Based in Hawthorn, and reporting to the Dispensary Lead you will assist the Dispensary team and Naturopathic services associated with the running of NIIM's Dispensary. This includes assisting with a range of retail, customer service and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the dispensary. Other key requirements of the role include:
- Answering the phones, and assisting with enquiries
- Taking, filling prescriptions and packing online and phone orders for postage
- Unpacking stock, stock rotations and checking for expired stock
- Compounding herbal liquid blends
- Price updates,
- Shopify updates, sales orders, POS reconciliations
- Adding new products and archiving products in PBSA
- Entering batch numbers on herbs
- Information management and handling confidential information
- Providing exceptional customer service to all stakeholders
- Being committed to continuous improvement and high-quality outcomes
- Working collaboratively with all stakeholders
- Being proactive, innovative and seeking opportunities for systems and process improvements
You Will Have
- Student or recent graduate of BHSC complementary medicine, naturopath, or nutritionist
- Exceptionally high levels of customer service skills
- Knowledge of the healthcare environment and complementary medicine highly regarded.
- Experience providing naturopathic consultations for the walk-in customers highly regarded, but not essential
- Proficient in Point of Sale (POS) systems highly regarded
- Proficiency in numerous computer programs inc Outlook, MS Word, Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional telephone manner
- The ability to build a shared understanding of, and commitment to the NIIM's mission and values.
