District Support Officer Full-Time Permanent

The ACT Parks and Conservation Service (PCS) is a branch of EPSDD with responsibility for planning and ongoing management of our parks, reserves and commercial forests. It protects and conserves the natural resources of the ACT, promotes appropriate recreational, educational and scientific uses of our parks and reserves, and maintains the aesthetic environmental backdrop to Canberra. In addition, PCS manages a commercial forestry estate on behalf of the ACT Government providing a broad recreation facility, carbon capture and an economic return for the ACT community. A core function of the ACT Parks and Conservation Service is the planning, preparation and management of fire in the landscape. Fire management incorporates Ngunnawal cultural burning knowledge and aspirations and Ecological objectives.

This District Support Officer position provides administration support to a team of Managers, Rangers and Field Officers based in Urban Reserves South depot. The successful applicant will have excellent knowledge of running a small office including broad administration skills and customer service, they need to be self-motivated and have outstanding communication skills.The ACT Public Service supports workforce diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace. Eligibility/Other Requirements:

Highly Desirable:

• Current Driver's licence
• Preparedness to wear a uniform.
• Preparedness to work at any ACT Parks and Conservation depot.
• Current basic first aid or willingness to obtain.
