Diversity and Inclusion Program Officer

About the team

As the Diversity and Inclusion Program Officer, based in Bundall – Gold Coast, you will develop and implement strategies, initiatives, and programs to foster a culture of inclusivity and ensuring equality across all aspects of our City Administration.

Reporting to the Coordinator Workforce & Talent Programs, you will work alongside a fun and dynamic team of dedicated Workforce Program officers and support officers. Together, we’re committed to delivering top-notch workforce programs that make a meaningful impact to the City. 

What you will be responsible for

  • Development and implementation of comprehensive DEI strategies aligned with the organisations High-Performance Principles and our organisational plan.  
  • Building partnerships with external organisations, community groups and stakeholders to support diversity, equity and Inclusion efforts both internally and externally.
  • Stay informed about current and emerging trends, research, and best practices in diversity, equity and Inclusion and serve as a subject matter expert whilst proactively identifying opportunities to enhance organisational efforts.
  • Partner with relevant Chief People Office teams to promote inclusive recruitment, hiring and promotion practices that attract and retain diverse talent at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strategically plan and execute significant diversity, equity and Inclusion events aimed at raising organisational awareness.

We're looking for people who have:

  • Knowledge and experience in the implementation of Diversity and Inclusion strategies and activities who is motivated to make a difference and drive positive change.
  • A broad generalist HR experience and will have contributed to the delivery of people related projects.
  • A continuous improvement mindset to support improving DEI programs, services and processes.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align DEI strategies with organisational goals and drive measurable outcomes.
  • you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including building working relationships, collaborating and engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.
