About North East Link 

The Spark Consortium has been selected to deliver the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project.

The Spark Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.

The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.

About the Opportunity

To support the delivery of the North East Link Central Package we are seeking a dynamic and motivated Document Control Manager. You will be accountable for all document management on the project, ensuring that it is performed in accordance with Spark ISO 9000 accredited Project Management System and any further requirements contained in the project’s Contract documents. You will manage various aspects of Document Control, including the receipt, retrieval and circulation of documents, review coordination, external submission and distribution control.

This role will be accountable for:

  • Effectively deliver the processes and functional work to meet relevant stakeholders’ expectations within your role:
  • Maintain and implement an efficient project-related Document Control register and procedures.
  • Manage workflows and collate, issue and receive documents in accordance with project requirements for the development, review and approval of design documentation and all other procedures, instructions, product certification and records that are subject to review and approval.
  • Provide direction & support to Document Controllers to ensure all project processes are consistent.
  • Ensure the maintenance and updating of filing systems and databases.
  • Lead Document Control personnel.
  • Provide training in company documentation procedures to other staff members.

Minimum requirements for this role are:

  • Post-secondary school training or TAFE certificate in Business Administration
  • Quality Management or other associated disciplines (desirable)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in similar role
  • Technical competency or detailed understanding in Document Control
  • Attention to detail.
  • Skill in stakeholder communication
  • Delegation and decision-making skills, e.g. quick thinking and confident in outcome
  • Effective problem-solving techniques and skills especially as it relates to delivery of outcomes.
  • Leadership skills, e.g. in being able to lead from the front and lead a team.
  • People management skills e.g. able to manage work and performance of the team.
