Domestic Cleaner

We are seeking Domestic Cleaners to join the friendly and supportive teams at our Juniper Bethavon Residential Aged Care Facility in Northam and our Juniper The Residency Residential Aged Care Facility in Northam. Juniper Bethavon is a 33 bed facility and Juniper the Residency is a 45 bed facility. Both sites pride themselves on a homely atmosphere and community feel. Ongoing close relationships are built between long-term staff, residents, their families, and the local community. Whilst working as a Domestic Cleaner you will provide cleaning for residents and the facility to help ensure all areas of the sites are kept hygienic and presentable. You will be an important and valued member of the team ensuring that a comforting and welcoming environment is maintained for residents, staff and visitors. Cleaning tasks will be delivered according to operational needs and resident preferences. There is two permanent full-time positions available, with up to 75 hours per fortnight on offer for the successful candidate(s). Applications are welcome from candidates available for part-time work. To be considered for part-time you must be available for at least four shifts each fortnight. Shifts and contract hours will be negotiated with successful candidate(s). Working hours will be between 6am and 2.30pm weekdays and shorter morning shifts on weekends. Key Responsibilities of this role: Mop/vacuum floors to remove soil, dust and waste Clean lounges, dining room and common areas of rubbish and dust Clean inside windows and wet areas – bathrooms & toilets, to an odour free, soil and hazard free condition Collect meal trays and clean dining and associated areas after meals Compliance with Occupational, Safety and Health requirements including appropriate Injury Risk Management The knowledge, skills and experience required: Certificate in Health Support Services or similar (Desirable) Previous experience in a similar role (Desirable) Ability to relate to aged persons with understanding, in a person-centred context, whilst working effectively in the performance of planned tasks Knowledge of cleaning practices, use of relevant chemicals, associated safety principles and the general OSH duties of employees Knowledge of household or commercial cleaning practices Skill in performing cleaning tasks including mopping, vacuuming, making beds, cleaning toilet and bathroom areas, replenishing consumable items and dusting Verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and residents, reading labels and equipment operating instructions and reading Juniper policy and procedure manuals Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete a planned routine of tasks within an allocated time Skill in operating basic equipment including a vacuum cleaner and fire extinguisher Received at least two covid-19 vaccinations and have had, or willing to obtain, influenza vaccination annually The perks and benefits Attractive remuneration $27.79 per hour, plus 11% superannuation Non-profit values driven Western Australian aged care provider All employees have access to Juniperks an online platform that unlocks exclusive retail discounts, employee perks, wellness initiatives and peer acknowledgement Salary Packaging up to $18,550 per annum tax free Health Insurance discounts Employee Assistance Program with free counselling To be considered for this position please submit your application online including a current curriculum vitae.
