We are seeking a Draftsperson to join our team! As a Draftsperson you will play a crucial role in our multidisciplinary engineering projects, contributing to the creation of accurate technical drawings and ensuring compliance with the Australian Industry standards. Here's what your new role awaits you:- Utilise specialised Autodesk software to produce high-quality drawings for EPCM projects.
- Prepare initial set-outs and detailed layouts for wet and dry engineering process plants across a variety of ore mediums for all disciplines including mechanical, structural, civil/earthworks, piping and electrical.
- Collaborate with Engineers, draftsperson, offshore resources, and clients incorporating knowledge gained into drawings.
- Liaise with the team to understand design intent and project goals.
- Decipher and understand project requirements and translate them into detailed drawings.
- Perform quality checks on drawings and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Review and analyse specifications, drawings, and related data to assess the design and procedures.
- Identify potential operational issues and redesign to improve functionalities.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Demonstrated experience working in an EPCM deliverable environment, especially familiarity in consulting companies that collaborate with clients.
- Proficiency in applying established engineering principles and adhering to Australian Industry Standards in the design and preparation of drawings. Specifically, those that affect initial layouts such as egress, stairway codes, dangerous goods, and tan theta rule.
- Sound understanding of process equipment and its impact on initial layout designs.
- Good knowledge of conveyor set-out, including layout and design considerations.
- Ability to produce detailed drawing packs and chute designs.
- Proven capability to work simultaneously across multiple projects, with various sets of client standards, requirements and drawing environments and templates set-ups.
- Effective collaboration with engineers and draftspersons within NewPro and offshore resources to understand project requirements and translate them into detailed drawings.
- A willingness to guide and mentor juniors by sharing experiences and knowledge.
- A good understanding of document control processes and drawing model management.
- Competence in utilising Autodesk software products and producing high quality drafting and design.
- Eligible to work in Australia and hold permanent residence status, or a suitable Visa (3 or 4 years of uninterrupted visa).
- Fit and capable of working in an office environment for 40 hours per week, and if need be, ability to travel to project sites when required.
