Draftsperson

Reed Mining Services is an engineering and manufacturing business with the objective of providing a complete service to our clients, handling projects from project initiation and planning through to intro to site. It is our belief that our structure of our Engineering team working closely with our production teams allows us to create a higher quality product in an efficient manner. 

Reed Mining Services is currently looking to fill a full-time role for Mechanical Draftsperson . This individual must be motivated and passionate about engineering design within the mining industry. 

Role Description: 

Full-time employment opportunity in which the successful applicant will be exposed to a continuous succession of small and large projects, participating in the design and testing of the product. In becoming a key member of the Engineering team, the main roles of the position are to: 

- Produce detailed fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor 

- Ensuring project work complies with conditions set out in project scope of works 

- Design structures that comply with regulatory standards, such as the Australian Standards 

- Liaise with department engineers and other draftspersons to ensure the projects progress as planned 

- Assist in the quotation and estimation of project resources 

- Perform site inspections for the purpose of capturing the design of various projects 

- Hands-on assistance in the field as required 

- Provide mentoring and guidance for more junior designers and drafters Ideal Skills and Experience: 

- Excellent use of CAD software, with Autodesk Inventor as preferred software 

- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite 

- Ability to adapt to change and work within a fast-paced environment 

- Good written and verbal communication 

- Aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting 

- Engineering design experience in the coal or mining sectors will be highly regarded 

- Valid car license and transportation 

- Site Based work
