This combined role will see you working closely with Senior Management to design, draft, estimate and see projects through the manufacturing process to completion and delivery.
About the role:
- Manage and lead a team of draftspeople and estimators
- Produce AutoCAD drawings and 3D drawings with Solidworks
- Liaise with customers regarding design improvements and changes as identified and necessary
- Liaise with production team members for prioritisation and scheduling
- Understand the scope of work and determine key variables for cost estimates
- Analyse plans and project documentation to estimate costs
- Research, source, negotiate, and obtain the best prices from suppliers
- Assess financial, technical, and operational risks of the project
- Ideally, have a trade background and looking to come off the tools
- Have an in-depth understanding of the manufacturing process
- Experienced in designing, estimating and drafting within a metal fabrication setting i.e. stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and/or Solidworks
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Meticulous organisational skills, ability to prioritize works in view of timelines
- High attention to detail
