With new opportunities on the horizon and strategic growth in our sights, we are now looking for an experienced Draftsperson to join our wonderful team. The successful candidate will use high-end software, including ArchiCAD, to produce client documentation. This role requires strong problem-solving, teamwork, critical thinking, creativity, and visualisation skills to create accurate and detailed drawings.
Key focuses for this role include:
• Producing highly detailed working drawings for high-end residential homes
• Managing allocated projects from sketch stage through to construction stage
• Applying knowledge of design construction procedures, zoning, and building codes
• Having comprehensive product knowledge of building materials
• Producing custom designs to suit client briefs
• Thoroughly reviewing and marking up documentation for projects
• Reading, understanding, and modelling from concept sketches, detailed plans, and client briefs
• Coordinating with the team to convey concepts and colour schemes
• Liaising with clients to meet design briefs and implement design changes
• Assisting with design aspects of projects, including:
* Investigation,
* Evaluation, and
* Recommendation of design solutions
As the ideal candidate for the role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
• Formal qualifications in drafting (preferable) or extensive drafting experience
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience using BIM software, with ArchiCAD preferred
• A design background and passion for design
• Good knowledge of National Construction Codes and relevant Australian Standards
• Familiarity with industry best practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
• High attention to detail and well-developed problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, manage time, prioritise, and meet deadlines
• A positive attitude
