As a result of solid growth in our business, we are offering an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Draftsperson to join our residential drafting team.
The Role
Reporting to the Residential Drafting Manager, you will be responsible for designing and drawing a wide variety and complexity of dwellings including , single and two storey houses, unit developments, as well as a range of government projects. Key responsibilities will include:
- Production of sales sketches and working drawings
- Meeting with clients to collate a design brief of their requirements
- Completion of all contract working drawings for construction, including liaising with external consultants such as Engineer’s, Energy Assessors etc to incorporate critical information
- Ordering & monitoring progress of external consultants details / drawings
- Checking sketches/working drawings for accuracy
- Liaising with Sales Consultants, construction team members, Council departments & the like to ensure timely production of sketches/working drawings
- Keeping drawings up to date to ensure a smooth building construction process
Ideally, as the successful candidate you will have:
- Certificate IV in Residential Building Drafting (equivalent or higher education)
- 3+ years of experience in residential drafting relevant to local building methods/practices
- Proficiency in the use of ArchiCAD 20 or later
- Strong knowledge of Building Codes, Residential Design Codes & other relevant Standards
- High level knowledge of residential construction in two storey & single storey (Traditional & framed construction advantageous)
- Demonstrate high levels of presentation and clarity on all drawings with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team to help form a positive, strong & vibrant environment
- Demonstrate a good work ethic with ownership of your drawings
